New Vacancy for Support Engineer



We are a Microsoft partner based in Swindon providing on-site technical support to schools and SME’s in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire & Berkshire. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated IT support technician to join our growing team of technicians primarily supporting our education sector.

Preferred candidate should have excellent communication skills, a good telephone manner, be polite, presentable and a strong desire to learn and become a valued member of our growing team. Also have the ability to work well on your own or in a team, be punctual and able to meet deadlines.

Additionally you will need to hold a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for business use.

Responsibilities include: -

  • Provide ICT support and network management to our school clients
  • Find solutions to problems and have a hands-on approach to support activities
  • Assist other technicians with support issues where required
  • Routine system admin tasks, group policy, user creation & general system management
  • Third party liaison on behalf of the schools

 

You should have an adaptable approach and the capacity to multi-task and work on various projects simultaneously.

The following IT Experience would be desirable but not essential:

  • Windows Client Operating Systems (XP, Windows 7 & 8)
  • Windows Server version (2003, 2008 & 2012)
  • Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Thin client technologies
  • Interactive whiteboards, projectors & audio equipment
  • Network and local printers
  • Network cabling
  • Wireless Access Points and controlled wireless networks
  • Virtualisation Solutions (VMWare & Hyper V)
  • Antivirus, Malware, spyware, adware
  • Backup Solutions
  • Remote support methods – Remote Desktop, Teamviewer
  • PC Imaging- Acronis

 

It would be helpful if applicants have Microsoft qualifications although this is not essential. Training materials and time will be given to achieve appropriate qualifications over time.
